Does anyone have any leads to Romany Smiths - particularly in Scotland. GGF had the brickworks in Auchtamuchty (Dunshelt). An elderly uncle and Mother remember going there for holidays and there were always Romanies camping on the brickwork surrounds apparently quite welcome as they used to come to the door of the cottage for various things. I know Smith is a name used by Romanies and I am particularly interested in William Smith who married Isabella Dunlop (b1799) around 1821 and his son who married Ann Paterson (b1812) around 1838 and who died 1894 allegedly aged 77. Is there any way of finding out if they were Romanies?
