Harry B. HOLMES lived in Chicago (Cook County) with wife Mary PRENDERGAST, daughters Anna and Lorraine, and a son Harry B. In 1917 he lived on Michigan Avenue very near the Field Museum. Worked for the New York Central & Hudson River Railway. Father was Henry B. HOLMES(1832-1886)of Schenectady, NY.

As suggested to may of these queries, it may be beneficial to check the 1920 federal census records. Depending on their ages in 1917, it may also be worth your while to check the 1910 census. Have you check with the railroad retirement board for any pension records? They have a web site www.rrb.gov and various links on that site will give you information on how to request this information.

Re ? I am relative of Harry B Holmes and am trying to do a family tree.
I got as far as a Joseph Holmes (1802- 1848??) married to Malissa Van Vorst (1808-1860) who would have been the grandfather of Harry B Holmes, but cannot go any further back in the Holmes line. Do you have any more info? thanks.
