hi ambrosscope,

what can you tell me about the origin of this surname, the reason I ask is it belongs to my great grandfather it is his middle name. but in order to find out why a family with no italian connections why would an ancestor have an italian middle name. In order to determiine this I need to find the origins of this name.

many thanks if you can shed some light on this name.

Derek

The word scope is Latin origined: scopae means broom, and the scopetta means wisp.
Where are you from?
For example in the stormy Centuries of the history arrived many Italians to Hungary (to the Historical one) who have been Hungarian as same as many Germans (Saxons - like me, Bavarians, Schwabish etc)

I am scottish with some italian however my ancestor who has this name had no italian blood in him however he did have a wealthy father. His father traded in italy and gave my ancestor this middle name to honour his business contact in italy. However his trading happened i believe in florence. does this name have any connection with florence?
