In my previous post I mentioned my father who died while visiting his family in Clay Cross. I believe it was Xmas Eve 1960 or 1961 I do know that he is buried somewhere in Belper. Can anyone help me with locating the cemetery please? His name is Albert Peter Bates, born 1891 Clay Cross, Derbyshire.
His father was John Bates.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you for your reply Pat.
I am not familiar with Derbyshire at all. I was born and raised in Lancashire, and presently live in California.
I would like to know how to contact Belper Cemeteries by e-mail if possible.
Kind regards,
Margaret

Im sorry i have looked in the Derbyshire Telephone book , i carnt find a Telephone number or an address.
I would think the " Care " of the Grounds is the responablity of the local Council , that would be Amber Valley.

Email enquiry@ambervalley.gov.uk

or the web page which is

www.ambervalley.gov.uk

By the way i have been past the Grave Yard and its one of the nicest and best kept i have seen. Its like a country setting lots of Trees and Plants, set slighty on a slope. So the graves look down onto the Valley with the River Amber in the bottom.

Thank you for that information Gary. It will be most helpful in locating a death certificate. Did it say if he died in Clay Cross ?
Kind regards,
Margaret
