Hello. I'm looking for my husband's grandmother, Jovita Camarillo Ramirez. Her death cert list her buried in Gibson Mexican Cemetery in Calvert but have not had any luck in finding this cemetery. I know that mexicans were buried in their own section but can't even find just Gibson Cemetery. Has anyone ever heard of this cemetery? Jovita's father, Porfirio Camarillo, is supposedly buried there also. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks to all.

Yes, thank you Sarah, that is my husband's grandmother listed on the FAG website. I was wanting to take a picture of her headstone, if possible, and so am looking for the actual cemetery. Ever heard of it?

Search for "jovita ramirez" at Ancestry.com

Ramirez, Jovita Camarillo 71179138
b. 1893 d. Nov. 19, 1936 Gibson Mexican Cemetery
Robertson County
Texas, USA

There might be another family tree, for her to contact on ancestry.
Also can go on findagrave.com forum...or contact the person that submitted the record.
I don't know where it is. Might want to google it....

Never thought to check with chamber of commerce but that's a great idea. I'll get in touch with them and hopefully they will know this cemetery.

Thanks for all your help!

I think the cemetery you are referring to is located on FM979 and is right before you get to the brazos river bridge if you are traveling from Calvert. My dad was taking care of the cemetery until he was no longer able. Cattle are constantly grazing in the cemetery. It is very difficult to find from the road, there are no markers or indicators that help identify it as a cemetery. I have family members buried there. Beauty Rest Cemetery is actually an African-American cemetery. hope this info helps.
