I am looking for a volunteer who could take a photo of the gravestone of Leopold Bertsch. He was born on January 14,1831 in Baden, Germany and died on April 11, 1910. He and his family are buried at St Mary's cemetery Mount Vernon, Jefferson Illinois.

How's this for fast? The photo can be viewed at

Actually volunteers have photographed all of the tombstones that could be found in Jefferson County. They deserve our gratitude.

I checked, and the one you're looking for is there.

Unfortunatelly I did not get permission from Cindy Ford to use these photos. They are under copyright.

That is the right family. Thank you for the information Patricia.
Kathie's maiden name was Clifton. She was married to Leopold's son Joseph. Another son John Bertsch was married to Verona Pettit. Charles, Henry and Edward were also sons of Leopold. The Bertsch family came originally from Baden, Germany.

I don't know the parents of Kathie. I only know that she married Joseph Bertsch on April 4, 1900 in Jefferson Illinois. She was born about 1875 and died 1905.
