I am looking for the ancestry of Robert Bain b @ 1771 in NC or TN married Sarah in 1796 and Sarah Sally Lee in 1822. He is the father of my ancestor Jane Bain who married John Davis in Knox Co., KY. The information I have is confusing. If anyone have information about this line I would appreciate clarification of my files. Thanks, Merry

I have a Robert Bean, Jr (his siblings used Bain) born in Mecklenburg Co, NC ca. 1770. He married 1. Ollie Carruthers, and 2.Sarah Lee m. about 1823 in KY. She was born about 1800.
Robert Jr's parents were Robert Bean b. ca 1738 and m. Martha McDonald b. about 1744.
They were married in Mecklenburg Co, NC in
about 1760.
Robert Jr had 9 siblings who used the spelling Bain. All seem to have been born in
Mecklenburg Co, NC between 1760 and 1792. If
you are interested I can get you the other siblings names. I am descended from Robert Jr's older brother, Daniel. I'm afraid I don't have much other info. The info above is from a distant cousin who got it from another distant cousin, so I don't have any
documentation on this part of the family. For what it's worth, here it is!! Good luck. Jere.

Both DANIEL and ROBERT were sons of ROBERT BEAN and MARTHA
MCDONALD -2 0f 10 children. DANIEL was b 1762 and married MARGARET
MCKACARINE in 1788. ROBERT BEAN d 1n 1801 and shortly thereafter DANIEL
lost his sanity. Some of his children were bound out to other individuals.
All of the descendants of ROBERT BEAN changed hte spelling of their surname to B-A-I-N
in the very early 1800s. I have information on most members of the ROBERT BEAN family.
