Thomasann (Allen) Gray was born 17 Nov 1821 in Shelbyville, Shelby County, KY, daughter of Thomas Allen and Mary (Henderson) Allen of Shelbyville. Thomasann m. William Walden Gray, son of James Gray, founder of Grayville, IL in 1847. According to the Illinois Historical Journal, vol. 90, Spring 1997, Thomasann was the granddaughter of Wingfield Bullock, US Congressman from KY and niece of James M. Bullock, Kentucky secreatary of state under Gov. James Clark, who was her cousin. Seek names of Thomasann's parents.

Josias Bullock m. Mary Henderson and they had daughters, Elizabeth and Nancy. He, reportedly, died in Jessamine Co. KY. Is Mary Henderson Bullock related to Thomasann (Allen) Gray's mother?

Take a look at Campbell Co., VA history, and there are notes there about Henderson and Clark marriages into the Bullock family. I'm working on the Clark connection - David W (white we think) Bullock - Sons were John Clark and Patterson Bullock

I am just wondering if Henderson maybe my missing link:
Henderson BULLOCK [Married] To: Rachel JAMES; in Franklin, Alabama 1870-1880.

It is believed that the BULLOCKs came to Alabama from TN or KY around 1820-30.
