Hi everyone I am interested in any help you may be able to give with tracking down the family of my great grandfather Charles Colin Barker. He resided in Gladstone at Parson's Point from what I have found through electoral rolls from 1913 to 1945 and worked in the meatworks. He died in 1945 and his death certificate shows the informant as friend CM Short my great grandmother. They had 6 children but never married. The children were Alfred, William, Edward, Martin, Colin and Isobel. My great grandmothers name was Catherine Margaret Ann Short nee Downing born around Nanango/Kingaroy 1891. She married Arthur Short from Gin Gin and sometime between 1913-1919 she took off from him. Then she appeared on the electoral roll in Capricornia with Charles Barker. We know nothing about Charles. His death cert shows his parents as Thomas Barker and Elizabeth Champion born in Yass Nsw approximately 1880. But we have not managed to find any records for him in NSW Bdm or for any other brothers or sisters. Any help would be really appreciated.
