From my understanding the last name Bertolucci, from my understanding the last name comes from the Tuscany area of Italy...it is a pretty common name like Smith or Jones in america...My Ex-husbands grand parents came from the Lucca area in Italy...they came to the S.F., California and worked on the railroad. There is a famous resturant in S.F. named after the family, Bertolucci. As far as I know we were only related by just name. There is a couple families of Bertoluccis in Bakerfield, Ca. Let me know if you have found out any different.

Dear Bob,
I'm writing you from Lucca - Italy.
I was searching information about Ilide Bertolucci, my grandmother sister's that came to Detroit I think before 1950, and died there at 33 years old. She was married, but I don't know her husband name.
My grandmother's name is Claudia Betolucci and she is 97 years old, her father's name was Narciso Bertolucci, and they all came from a small county village very close to Lucca called Mastiano, it is situated on the hills around the town of Lucca, if you need more info let me know. I will try to help you.
Kind regards
sabrina

Bob, I know this is a million years later, but Lucca is where my Bertolucci side is from. Apparently my great aunt Emma used to go there every year before she got too old and stay with our relatives there.

I have spent time in Tuscany and have seen the name Bertolucci. After studying Italian history I have come to the conclusion that you can find Italian roots all over the world because so many left during WW1 and WW2. Also, Mussolini sent almost 500,000 to Germany to work in the factories during and 250,000 to the Russian front during WW2 and I'm sure many stayed behind after the war.

Hi Sabrina, doing research on Bertolucci Family from Aquilea Lucca. Do you have any information on Monaca Bertolucci who married Michaelangelo Berchiolli, they had a daughter Marianna born circa 1833 who married Battista Angeli from Gromignana Lucca. Thanks Loretta Mattei

I am trying to establish whether Frank (Francisco) Ba(e)rtolucci, a butcher from San Giuliano Terme near Lucca is related to my paternal grandmother, Aristea Ba(e)rtolucci, wife of Ettore Pardi from Ripafratta.
