I lived in San Jose in the early 70's

There was a legendary tough guy named Armond Bletcher (he was mentioned in a book by Sonny Barger who was the President of the Hells Angels).

Armond was a large man with tremendous muscularity.

Sonny lives in Cave Creek Arizona.

Good luck!!!!!

Kim ~
Gary was right in classifying Armond as legendary. Haven't thought of him in years. Sorry, used to have a picture, can't seem to find it. Will keep looking. I can tell you he was a big, burly man, stood 6'2" and weighed a good 340 lbs. When I knew him his stomping grounds were Fresno/Kerman area, and again he was notorious for being a strong-arm. He had a terrific laugh and was actually great fun when he wasn't "taking care of business". Have a friend from the old days that was there when your dad was shot. Will inquire if he has any pics. Hope someone can help you.
Good luck to you. Linda

Dear Kim, Apparently I am your half sister! Hoping this is good news to you as it is for me. I do have photos and articles
I'de like to share with you. Never did get to know Armond and
I just began using the Bletcher name about three years ago.
Anyhow I am thirty five (birthday in August) and was raised
by my mother as an only child...I know as of today that I have
four half sisters and you are one of them! What a trip this is.
I have met the other girls and am close to two of them, each of us have different mothers and I've met two moms out of three. Have heard many stories in and around very random
circumstances and one things for sure...Armond is definately
a legend and I'm so happy he blessed me with part of him left
behind. Looking forward to hearing from you and sharing with
you. Have a great day and take good care...Kenna

Kim,
I'm 41 years old, but knew your father when I was young. My uncles, Melvin and Lowell Rocca, were very extremely good friends and very close to your father. Your father was huge. He was 6'3" 335 lbs. at the time of his death. Not fat either. My uncle Melvin said he was also extremely strong and very agile. My mother also knew him very well, but that's another story. Do you know who your birth mother is. Well, I guess that's enough for now. Take care and send me an email message if you like.

I read your post while viewing posts made by Charles Ciraulo.

Check the old Fresno Bee issues about the time of your father's death. There was an article in the paper and if I remember correctly, it had a picture. If I remember correctly, the person who killed him was a cousin or something.

Charles was also correct in stating that Armond was a huge person.

I had this article for a long time, but gave it to my son with a lot of other pictures many years ago and have I believe his exwife kept them.

I am the exwife of Lowell Rocca, who Charles mentioned in his reply.

Good luck with your search.

Jan

I went to school with a Armond Bletcher.
If you can tell me where he went to high school perhaps
I can help you your query, and tell you about him. We did
hang around together.
