I'm looking for information on Owen Dabney and his descendants. I believe his wife to have been a Higgason/Higgerson and want to verify my hypothesis. He was there in the 1780s.

Go down to the Va. Historical Society. Beverly Bragg from Alabama did the manuscript on the Dabneys but be prepared because there are about 2000 pages. I live in Rockville.Va.

To Steve Dabney, please send me the name of the 2000 page manuscript on the Dabneys. I have referenced "The Dabney's of Virginia. " Need additional on John Dabney, Brigadier-General at Yorktown and his sons, where they were born, married, died. Have five generations back from myself documented, but the Dabneys of Virginia book is complete, but does not give birthdays. I have been to the Library of Virginia, and plan to go to the Swem Library at William Mary, plus I will talk to the Historian at Yorktown Visitors Center. Help if you can. Thank you very much.

Just reading your message about B.Bragg. We visited her
several years ago and saw her work room with tons of info.
Glad she finished. I am looking for John Lane Dabney, father
of John Lane who married Polly Hoot in S.C. between 1790-1880. He or his father were probably born in VA.
Can you help?

Please note a typing error on marriage date
for John Lane Dabney should be 1790 to 1800.
There are gremlins in my keyboard.

The last time I searched for him in the DAR files, I found considerable doubt cast on claims of his existence.
