I have alot of information about Fittros! Abraham Fittro - the one married to Rachel White, was the son of Joseph Fittro, Jr., who was married to Catharine Provant on March 26, 1799. Joseph is the son (of course ) of Joseph, Sr. There is some conflicting information in the large pile I have, so I am not sure of all the correct details, but here is what I have that I think is correct:

Joseph Fetrow II, born 11 May 1780 in York, Pennsylvania, married on 26 Mar 1799 to Catherine Provant, born in 1776, died on 1 Jan 1832, both of whom died in Harrison Co., WV (no dod for Joseph II).

Their children are John II, Catherine, Joseph III, Abraham, Samuel II, Martin (I am a descendant of Martin), Molly, Jacob II, Madison, Elizabeth, Betsy, and Sarah.

Joseph Fetrow I was born on 10 Oct 1759, in York, PA, was married on the 10th of Nov 1778 to Catherine Fischer (no dob), and Joseph I died on 8 May 1818, both of them dying in York, PA.

Joseph I is the son of John Philip Fetrow, who was born on May 1, 1719 in Germany. He married Ana Mary Rose, who was born in 1732 in Germany. She died on 17 Mar 1805, and he died on 7 March 1818, both in York, PA.

Please e-mail me for more info!

Maria, I do not have information on the Fittro family, but was wondering if you had any information on the Lawniczak family. I have information that indicates that a Antony Lawniczak came to the US with 6 brothers from Poland. Antony's last name has changed over the years to Lawnichak. Do you have any data regarding the Lawniczak side?

Hi Maria,

I will probably e-mail you to make sure you see this, but we must be distantly related if your Fittros lived in Harrison Co. WV. My g-grandfather was born in Clarksburg and his sister Lydia Minerva Mines married an Edmund Fittro 29 Dec 1870. Do you have or know of a Fittro website? I will be happy to share my Mines one with you, if you are interested.

Warm regards,
Chris

Hi,

I have a g-grandfather that was born in Harrison County, W.Va. in 1839. He was the eldest of 7 children that survived. His family moved to Highland County, Ohio when he was 14. His father was Abraham and Rachel Fittro. Abraham's parents were Joseph and Catherine (Provant) Fittro and at the time of their marriage they lived in York County, Pa.

Now I am looking for any information regarding the family. If you can be of any help I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Abraham Fittro

Shirley,
Wasn't Lewis the oldest child of Abraham and Rachel Fittro? I descend from his sister, Amy Virginia (Taylor). I have accumulated a good deal of data on this family. Let me know if there is something in particular you are searching for or if you want to swap info.

My grandfather and grandmother lived just outside of Clarksburg in a little community called Katy's Lick near Wilsonburg. My grandfather was Joseph Ellsworth Fittro and my grandmother was Harriet Rebecca (Hurst) Fittro. My grandmother was born in 1871 to William and Mary Hurst. I have no information on grandfather. Any help would be appreciated.

Mark,

Blanche was my mother. They also had one other child, Emzie, who was the youngest. I was named after Joseph Ellsworth. James Ellsworth. I would appreciate any information you might have on them.
