Rufus Edward Howieson was born in the Province of Quebec according to his birth certificate in 1845. Census info says his mother was from Vermont where he grew up/married Jennie Belle ? and his father was "Scots English." He moved to Merrimac MA 1900-1910 and died there 1937. Any further info regarding his family would be greatly appreciated. He was a Civil War vet Co. F of the New Hampshire 2nd Infantry.

Steve,
I saw your posting in 2003 for Rufus Edward Howieson.
His brother, Elgin E. is the one I am interested in.
He married Eunice (Hutchinson)and they lived in Worcester,
Vt. She went by the name Mabel May. They had I believe
8 children, Christopher, Clarence, Ernest, Harry, Jessie, Fred, Sarah and Florence.
Elgin and wife are bu: Worcester with children, Florence, Earl, Harry and Jessie
Clarence is bu: with wife Marguerite and son Earle B. and
his wife Gertrude.

Would like more info on Fred Blaisdell. Have him b. 6 Nov 1887 m.(1) Viney H. Walton 15 Sep 1909 Haverhill, MA
assume divorced
m (2) Alice Blanche Grandfield 30 Nov 1916. She d. 1961
but don't have any death info on Fred

Also don't know about Sarah Alma that was b. 21 Mar 1891.

Thanking you in advance for any help on further info.
I hope to send for obits on Elgin and his wife. The Vt
State Library is very helpful as long as they have place
of death, full date of death.

I am the granddaughter of Clarence Howieson of Worcester, Vt. My mother is his daughter, Thelma Morgan Howieson Healey. Earle Blaisdell Howieson was my uncle and my mother's brother. He is now deceased. His wife, Gertrude, is still alive. Fred Blaisdell is known to me as "Uncle Fred" (he would be my great uncle). I have a picture of him. My understanding is that he went to British Columbia at some time in the '20's and died out there from "blood poisoning" following a logging accident of some sort. Elgin Howieson would be my Great Grandfather. Who are you??

My name is Susan Audy and I live in White River Jct., Vt. My connection is through John Jerome Tillotson and his wife Lorinda (Foster). My great great grandparents. John Jerome was brother to Sarah Tillotson (b. Nov 1839 and d. 12 Jun 1910. Sarah was married 3 times. (1) Theodore Hutchinson (2) Fernando Cortez Celley (3) Almon H. Chase.
I always thought that Sarah's daughters, Eunice (Mable May) and Sarah Almira had died in infancy, but found out I was mistaken by some messages on rootsweb. I have requested and received several obituaries from the Vt. State Library. I have an obit for Fred Blaisdell Howieson if you are interested. I wondered about Fred's sister Florence? I have her b. 21 March 1891 d. Jun 1963 bu: in Worcester Village Cemetery in Worcester, Vt. She was married to a MITCHARD. Would like to find her obituary. Florence's records also have her as Sarah Alma and full date of death 26 June 1963. I also have much info on Sarah Almira (Hutchinson) Wells that was married to George franklin Wells. You can contact me directly at:

Look forward to hearing from you.
