I am related to the Kekoanui family. I do have information. My grandmother was Kalani (Esther) Kekoanui. Her father was Keone Kekoanui aka Koanui Pili. Her mother's name was Makanoii Nahuina Hukeko. Her grandmother's name was Makakane and grandfather's name Pili. Does any of this sound familiar. They were from Maui and lived on Kekoanui Street, somewhere going up from Peahi. Please contact me.

I have a book of names made by Kekoanui relatives living in Hawaii. Also, when we had a reunion, I have several pages of updates. Please call me at 503-738-9048 or e-mail me. I am very interested in the longer version of the name. One of our relation, Kaleo Patterson, is heavily involved in Hawaiian rights, and knows a lot about the history of Hawaiians. He is also a preacher, and a professor of one of the classes at the University of Hawaii. We have many relations there. My daughter graduated from the University of Hawaii last year, and now works on Oahu. I am hoping we are related. My information is that we originated in Maui. There is a street named there for our family, on which many lived and died. There is a gravesite on the old property of several of the Kekoanui's. Great Uncle Henry Kekoanui is one of them. However, when talking to Kaleo, he was wondering if there is a connection to Tahiti, because of the names in our book. I have an old book he gave me that lists Pili (another name in our family) then Koa his son. They came from Tahiti, first to The big island, then to Maui. He was a chief. Please e-mail me back. Thanks.

Hey! I am writing to you under my dad's e-mail. My name is Vanessa, my dad is Henry (not to be confused with the other Henry that served in the army and already passed). Dad was born in Maui--so, if you e-mail him at this address, he'll have WAY more info. on the family line. I've spoken to aunt Esther on a few occassions before she passed (assuming I have the right one--she should be at the top of the Patterson clan). Dad created the CA newspaper The Voice of Hawaii before aunt Esther took it over. We're from Joe's side of the family. Contact

Hey there, I'm replying under my dad's e-mail since he doesn't mind receiving junk marketing! Yeah, we're Kekoanui's. Contact my dad at this e-mail and he can provide much more info., especially since we ran into Auntie Stephie who has a whole geneology tree already printed out. Big deal, you know!

Aloha Kakou,

As I was looking for my husband's family I came upon this listing and noticed the name. My maiden name is Koanui. My son carries our family name which is Kaleokekoanuikalamaku-O-namokupunikanawalilipu'u. I was given this exact name from my tutu; however, I have been told that it was not in the correct order. My tutu's name was Violet & Harry Koanui. From the sound of it it seems like we might be related. Please advise if this sounds familiar. My tutu's are from the island of Maui & the Big Island. A hui hou a malama pono.
