My Great Aunt married a Herman Kirmse from Marinette Wisconsin, probably in the 1940's. I know Herman's family owned The Globe House furniture store in Marinette, and I think the store is still there. Herman was one of 12 or 13 children who were born in the lat 19th century. Herman was a dentist.

Might your Kirmse be a relative?

YES! My great aunt married Herman Kirmse, born in the late 19th century (1890-ish?). Herman was one of 12 or 13 children, and Otto, Walter and many others were his siblings. the family owned The Globe House is Marinette WI. Do you have information you can share? When we were young kids we would stay at the Kirmse cottage just outside of Marinette-it was OLD and full of bugs!

My grandfather was Elmer Kirmse, Son of Frank & Emma (Ehnert)Kirmse, Grandson of George & Mary Kirmse from Germany. I don't have much information before my grandfather, only his sibblings, Anita, Hilda & Edna and forward. I did also see that Frank had 2 brothers Ernest & Otto and a sister Clara. Feel free to contact me if I can help you with any of the information I do have. Also I would be interested in any additional information you obtain about George & Mary.

Might you have the address for the Kirmse family cottage (very old, probably built around 1900 in Marinette WI)? We used to go there in the 1970's-and I am just curious about it. My great Uncle Herman Kirmse (born around 1895?) let us stay there. :)
