Hello I'm tryng to find anyone with the name of Klimko who lives in the Eastern US area.

My grandfather Jozef Klimko came into the US after 1912.
My mother Constance Klimko lived in NY, NJ and PA most of her live. She died in 1984.

I'm trying to dig up our geneological roots and have so little to go by. If anyone knows of or may be related to either of these two please contact me. Klimko is not a common name and it might be easily said that we might all share a common ancestor.

As you can see I looking for people who would have to be very old or have a good memory. thanks connie

My grandmother was Helen Klimko Beers. Her mother was Julia Jurindak Klimko married to Michael Klimko. They lived in Oxford, but were both from Krog, Czechaslovakia.

I'd love to see if there are connections.

Connie, I have a small bit of Klimko info that may help. I have my g/grandfathers birth registery. His name was Istvan Martonyi he was born in Eperjes (Presov) in Sept 1893. He was baptised later that same month. The two people my g/g/grandparents Janos Martonyi and Maria Vilcsinszky chooes for his godparents where Jozsef Szabol and Anna Klimko. I am just getting started myself so I have no other info on either name. I am not sure if Jozsef and Anna where married or just family friends. Hope the names and dates help. Glenn.

Have you confirmed the spelling of a place of birth and have located it in former Czechoslovakia? I am not finding such a location in Slovakia.

Is JURINDAK an americanized version of DZURINDAK or something similar to that spelling?
In Slovakia's phone book:

Is this your ancestor in SSDI ?
