I would like to know more about our family background. I feel as if I do not know where I belong in society. I have always wanted to know where my ancestors originated from. I would love to know about what they did, when they came to America and, what other interesting facts that you may have. I just want to know where I came from. Please send me any information that you may have. Thank you!

Hello, Amanda. I was born into the Leckrone Family, which resides near North Manchester, Indiana. My grandparents are currently living on a farm that has been in the Leckrone Family for over 100 years, so they have been in Indiana at least that long.

I, too, am searching for our family's origin, but I recall my Grandmother once mentioning that the Leckrones moved here from Pennsylvania. Good Luck!

Surnames: Leckron, Leckrone, Lekrone, Lecron, Lechron, the list goes on. . .
Hey there. . .I was just searching for stuff on the web with my name and I found this link to a posting from you. I thought it was cool that we both basically have the same name because our last names are just forms of the same name. :)Anyway, I don't know much about the Leckron/Leckrone name or the history of it either and I would be interested in finding out more. I have been trying to for awhile and not been able to come up with much because it's a very uncommon name with several different forms and spellings. Anyway, I'm from MD. I have Leckron family members living with me in Maryland and also in Indiana. Where do you live? Is there any kind of link between us? Just wondering. . .

My Father, Glen Leckrone Sr. lived in North Manchester, Ind. about 1905. His Father was Wm. Leckrone and his Mother was Nellie or Nettie Luark. He left Ind. when he was 14 yrs. old and hitchhiked to Mont. and lived in a small town of Lustre, Mt., near Wolfpoint, Mt I would like to know anything about his family. We were told nothing and have just in the last few years found his sister's family. Her name was Mildred and his brothers name was Frank. They are all gone now and I would like info any of these people. Thanks. Marvel Leckrone Thompson

My Father was Glen Everett Leckrone, born in North Manchester in 1903, son of Wm. Leckrone. His Mother was Nellie or Nettie Luark who lived with a family who took her off an orphan train by a family by the name of Ulrich. My Dad Ind. when he was 14 yrs. old and hitchhiked to Mt. after his parents divorced. He would never talk of his past but he would say he was Pennsylvania Dutch, and he did mention a relative by the name of Samuel. When pressed, he would clam up and we never could get anything more from him. Both his Father and Mother married other people and Wm. had another son. All are dead now. My Dad died at an early age-64 yrs. old in 1967. He never saw his Dad or Mother after leaving Ind. and never wanted to have any contact with his family. While he was hospitilized in May of 1967, he got word that his Father had died. He died in Oct. 1967. I would appreciate anything you could tell me about my family as I am getting older myself and would like to know something about my ancestors. Thank you. Marvel Leckrone Thompson
