My ggg grandfather Barton Loveless was born in 1795 in SC. It is believed that he is the son of James who was born in 1760. I am looking for info on James to help clarify this line of descent. Also, William Loveless arrived in Maryland in 1664 on the ship Hopewell. He is believed to be our first American Loveless, but from him until James the line of descent is muddy. Is there anyone who has info that can help clarify any of this?

My gg grandfather was Henry Caleb Loveless (1853-1897) he married Alice Vinette Suite (1859-1919). Their daughter Caroline Virginia Loveless was my g grandmother. Henry's parents, were James Elisha Loveless and Caroline Virginia Gates (July 4, 1825- April 12, 1909)

That doesn't connect with anything I have yet, but I'm working on a lot of lateral lines. If I find something, I'll let you know and would appreciate you doing the same. Thanks.

I have information from the August, 1776 Census from Frederick Co. (now Montgomery Co.) Maryland of Benjamin (b.1727) and Sarah (b.1735) Loveless and their six children: Elkanah (b.1755), Barton (b. 1757, married Lucy Watson on June 11, 1778), Zaddock (b.1760), Reson (b. 1764), Sarah (b. 1770), and Benjamin (b. 1774). I am missing two generations after that.

Pam, I have recently received information on those missing generations. A Barton Loveless, b. abt. 1800 m. Isabella Johnson, b. 1805 in SC. They had 10 children: Harriett, Abner P.(b. 1825 in GA, Adeline, Phillip, Benjamin, Mary C., Petty, Alfred, Cinthia, and Samuel. All were born in GA. Baron dies 1849 in Pickens CO. GA. I don't know at this time which of Benjamin's children to tie this line to, but am working on it. If you give me you e-mail or street address I will send over the next 3 generations.
