My name is john Fred Reader-Maud AKA Maud Born 26 September 1948 Beeston Nottingham England 1948, My father is John Thomas Maud Born 27 September 1923.
Originally my name had an e on the end but for some reason after fighting in the Boer war my grandfather for some reason removed the 'e'

HI John, Im also interested in the Maude or Maud name, so far I have gone back to 1744 with Edward Maud, I think but cannot prove it yet that Thomas John is a relation of ours. Write to me and we can compare notes

Thanks for contacting me i will get back with further info asap, in the mean time i believe that the family came from normandy and settled near Leeds England under the name of Mahout, later by word of mouth to become Mahude and eventually Maude.
There as a stately home near Leeds that the family seemed to have lived in called East Riddlesdon Hall.

Have you tried looking in Burke's directory of Notable British Families there are family pedigrees of several Maude families published East Riddleston Hall previously Riddleston but subsequently split by a will to two families

To John Maude: Apparently you are correct about the Maude family branching off into two family trees, I am searching for more information if anyone has any info about how to find the branch of the Maude tree I belong to advise please.

I am a descendent of Arthur Maude born 1878 framingham Mass. My dad is his grandson. I am interested in any info you have on Arthurs' dad Thomas. I have seen info on record that you submitted that connects to the Tyrell family as Thomas's wife was Adeliza H Tyrell. Do you have more on Thomas' father? Please write back.

Im sorry thats all I have names and a few dates that I have put up on the tree. Im really stuck there because it has on Thomas Maudes Birth (unknown Parents). I dont know how to get anymore info. Im trying to work out how we are related. Ill work on it :)
