Dear Ms. Pedraza
My name is David Pedrazine (formally Pedraza) and I have been researching the Pedraza name for about 2 1/2 yrs. I do have it traced back to the early 1400's. Manuel Pedraza was born in Rioverde on his mothers estate. Records are hard to come by here in San Antonio, but I do believe our family is related to Manuel. Also, have you run across any information about a Don Diego De Pedraza? He was the 1st District Attorney of Mexico City. He was a part of Hernan Cortez's crew as a surgeon/doctor. Any info we can trade with each other would be great.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi, I was wondering if you have traced the Pedraza family from 1400's Italy ???
Because, I was wondering if the Pedraza family was originally of Jewish origins ??? and the family was hiding
it from the Church in Italy at that time, and if that could be the reason the Pedraza family moved to Spain to established themselves there ???? There is a Pedraza Castle in Spain,
Please let me know if this is the correct Pedraza family ???
Thank You,
Marilyn Kenney ( I am connected to the Pedraza family, through my mother's line, my ancestor: Isabel de Pedraza born: 1606 in New Mexico, her father: Juan de Pedraza born: 1568, Cartaya, Spain. (Juan de Pedraza was on the first Expedition ( Ornate Expedition to New Mexico in 1598, from Mexico).

Hello,
Regarding my ancestor: Isabel de Pedraza born 1606 A.D. in New Mexico, her father: Juan de Pedraza born 1568 Cartaya,
Huelva, Spain.
I have found some research that Isabel de Pedraza's mother
was from the Perez de Bustillo family.
The wife of Juan Perez de Bustillo was: Maria de La Cruz
Also, I was talking recently asking the Spanish lady about Cartaya, Spain: she says that Cartaya, is very close to the Portuguese border.
If you have any information on Maria de La Cruz's parents,
Please let me know.
Maria de La Cruz was born in Mexico City around 1566 ???
or in 1567 ????
I am tracing the mother's mother's line for any Jewish lineage.
Thank You.

I do know that a Pedraza went to fight in Italy in support of the Medici's but the family was not from Italy. I do also believe that we are of Jewish descent and that they were conversios. Our comes from Pedraza, in Segovia and history shows that this was an Arab occupied part of the country that was taken by the Spanish in the 14th century.

One family member, Hernan Pedraza, was the Governer/owner of one of the Canary Islands, Isla Gomera.

Hello again! I am just catching up on your emails, sorry I didn't know they were there! I can trace the Juan Pedraza in my line through the De las Casas family. Juan's great-great grandparents were Ines De las Casas and Diego de Herrera y Ayala. Ines's father descended from Admiral Juan Mathe, the Admiral of Castile. Ines's mother is a direct descendent of Jean de Bethencourt I (one of his grandsons discovered the Canary Islands and there was a huge dispute)

Have a look at my family tree called PEDRAZA family history.

Thanks and hope this helps!
