I'm looking for descendants of Alan and Ernest Ricard from St James Parish in Louisiana. They were descendant of the Gens de Coleur libre and proportedly descendants of the Ricards of the French court prior to the Louisiana Purchase

Pheobe-
Don't have any knowledge of those you're looking for, however, I am also interested in the Ricards of Louisiana. My own group lived in Avoyelles, and perhaps in Pointe Coupee early on. Eli, my great grandfather was born about 1820. I have not been able to identify his parents, but have not ruled out the possiblity of his being a descendant of the free Ricards of colonial Louisiana---just can't put it together! Eli married Julie Jacque, my great grandmother, and perhaps had an earlier marriage. His known children are Mary Ricard Ducote Telemaque, my grandmother, Paulina, Ozite, Julia, Illvert, Louis and Narcise. He died in 1902 in Avoylles Parish. I am also connected to a RedmAn group--also of Avoyelles Parish. My great aunt Rose Telemaque -m- Emile Redman in 1880. I'll have to check my records for Emile. Presly Redman was another name from that area and time. Let me know any and everything about your folks. Avoyelles is near the La/Ms border.

Seeking Pointe Coupee lineage.
Jean Francois Allain married Marie Francoise Ricard 10/6/1761.
Col. Charles Morgan married Hyacynth Allain about 1810.
I am trying to bridge the gap.
Guessing, I believe Jean and Marie Ricard had three daughters, Hyacynth, Celeste and Hedwige in the early 1790s.
Can you confirm any of these connections and/or fill in any dates?
Thanks for the help.

Ricard

I would be interested in this document. I'm Phoebe's cousin and we're both working on our tree.
How can I get a copy?

I am from Pointe Coupee Parish and am a decendent of St. Luc Ricard. My father was Bertrand Ricard and grandfather was Alcide Ricard. St. Luc was my g-g-g-g-g-grandfather (I think I included all the g's). I have information on the Ricards coming to Pointe Coupee Parish from France.
