Have been researching Silence family of Indiana. Most lived in Jackson Co. My grandfather was John Silence who was born in Shelby Co. IL. The family moved to Indiana shortly after that. I have some info on the Silences. Any other info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Am researching my great grandfather's family. His name was Sirus Edward Hall, born February 1873 in Illinois. His mother's maiden name was Silence. I think it may have been Nancy, but I'm not sure. I am not sure of his dad's name but think it may have been Thomas. His mother was born in Indiana and his dad was born in Illinois. My granddad lived in Missouri and then around 1905 moved to Oklahoma where he lived when he died. Any help would be appreciated.

I too am a Silence relative out of Jackson Co., IN. My mother was Thelma Silence, the oldest daughter of Charles and Faye Silence. I have been trying to locate information, but so far have very little to go on. I too would appreciate any information. I know of local cousins, ect. And my grandfather had a brother that went by the name of Uncle Cap. I currently reside in Barthalowmew, CO IN.

Hi. My mother is Lucille Perry Williams, daughter of Binnie Silence Perry. She was the sister of Uncle Cap and Uncle Charlie. We have very little info on their parents. We know their names, William Henry Silence and Sarah Nowling.Do you know anything about where they were born and who their parents were? Thanks, Martie

Margo - who were Joseph Leonard Silence's parents? My mother is the daughter of John Silence and Dottie Mae Derringer Mosley Silence.

My great grandfather was Melvin Silence. I believe that he is Charlie's son. I may be incorrect about this. I don't know if this is the right line or not, but I am from Jackson County.

Hi. I knew your gr grandfather, Melvin, and his wife, Katherine. He was my mom's cousin. I have some info on the Silence family history, but not as much as I would like. I have a few pics I could email you if you want. There is a Silence reunion in Brownstown or Seymour in June of each year. I havent been able to attend in several years, but Mom and my sister go. I would like to try to attend this year. Glad to meet all new cousins.

What state is the reunion held in? And do you have exact dates? Not sure if I can make it this year, but would love to know more about it just in case.

Blessings,
~MJ~
