I'm new to this also. I do have some information on the Stone Family. My mother has a book from the church that my Granny Stone (Lily Stone) had gone to titled "The first 100 years". It has history on each family that were members. Lily Stone's huband was Simeon Colin Stone (who founded the town of Gahanna, Ohio)...I vaguely remember incestors named Thomas Stone (signed the Declaration of Independence) and that they had come from England. I will get the book from my mother and see what details I can give. Who knows, maybe we can make a connection. Please email bsktsold@bright.net) me with any information you have. Thank You!

I have a William Stone married to Elizabeth (we didn't have Elizabeth's last name.) William's will proved 1749 and Elizabeth, Amelia Co. Va. William's parents were William Stone and Sarah (?). William will proved 1717, Richmond Co. VA. A lot of speculation on William's ancestry in Va. and England. Sorry but I don't have any further information on Elizabeth but I can give you the Stone line if you need it.

I have a Thomas Stone(birth and death dates unknown) who married a Mary Woodbury (dates unknown also) and had a daughter-Mary Stone born 26 April 1778 in Henniker, New Hampshire. So he was around when the Declaration was signed. Is this your Thomas?

i am a descendant of William and Elizabeth of Lunenburg County, VA. There are many of William-Elizabeth descendants (or their spouses)who have developed their linkage to William and Elizabeth and have submitted their data to various genealogy data bases. My data came from my now deceased aunt, Nora Anderson of Little Rock, AR. My older sister, Avery Nelson (also of :Little Rock, AR) now keeps up the research. Floyd Smith, whose wife is a descendant, now lives in San Diego County and he has done alot of research on the Lunenburtg County Stones. So has my cousin in Anaheim, Jim Wilks whose son, Dave has established "my-ged.com" homesite for large genealogy data bases. All of our separate research is unfortunately deficient about the roots of Elizabeth Roberson. However, all our data agrees that William and Elizabeth had 4 children (William, Ashley, Elizabeth, and Mary). The will of William (the husband of Elizabeth Roberson)was recorded in York Co., VA(bruton parish). It was signed 25 Nov1729. Bothe Jim Wilks and my lineages down from William and Elizabeth Roberson can be viewed at http://www.my-ged.com

Unfortunately, Our data on the ancestors of William is still a little scant and more research is needed. There is one source at geocities.com that claims to have some dat going back to William's father and grandfather (both of whom are believed to be named William too). Biut some of the data's dates and places in Virginia seem to be different than our data. It just needs to be checked out.

If you are a descendant also, I would like to receive your file and I can send you mine. I assume you have a program that can accept a file gedcom format. I will look forward to hearing fom you.
