do you have a Eunice or Bertha listed as relatives of your Studivan? my great aunt was Eunice Studivan who married Luther Lough in Webster Springs-he was a brother to my grandmother-Eunice is my aunt through this marriage.her mother's name was Mary. there was a sister to Eunice-Bertha-who traveled to Nova Scotia searching for their family. on a road tthey met a man on a bike and asked him how they could find donald Studivan and he said that was him. this family did not pass any info from this trip to Eunice's side sonthey are now searching themselves.

I have talked with my cousin who is the grandson of Eunice Studivan Lough, daughter of William. He told me that she had these known sisters Bertha and Rose and a brother Donald. William also had a brother named Willis. William was born 8-30-1966 in Nova Scotia and died 3-1-1943 (we think in WV). He married his wife ,named Mary, I think here in Webster Springs. Does this still fit? I think Donald may be your husband's line.

YES!!! I spoke with my mother-in-law. Donald was my husband's grandfather. So the story goes.... He impregnated his girlfriend in 1942. Apparently he was severly injured with a spinal cord injury during a mining accident in Virginia, February of 42. His girlfriend, Virginia did not tell him she was pregnant. She did not tell any of his family. She gave birth to Ronnie David Studivon on November 18, 1942. She signed the birth certificate as a Studivon even though they were never married. Virginia married another man when David was a baby. She never told him of his biological father. He was raised as Ronnie David Helton. When David was 8 he was stricken with polio and became completely deaf. When he turned 18 he went to get a copy of his birth certificate and there was only one for Ronnie David Studivon. This is how he found out his entire life was a lie.

Two years ago I started this quest to find his true family. For so long.....nothing. My mother in law searched for years (before internet access) and came up with nothing. My husband told me I was chasing after something I could never solve. I am so happy to hear from you. Please send me some information. I would love to talk and meet with some of the family. My husband and I live in West Virginia. This would be such a wonderful gift to give my family.....

Bless You...

I spoke with my cousin who is the great grandson of William Studivan through his daughter Eunice. He gave me this info-I'm not sure what you might have, so forgive me if I repeat myself-William was born 8-30-1866 in Nova Scotia and died 3-1-1943. His 3 daughters were Eunice, Bertha, and Rose-there may be more, I'm lookiing into it. The son James Donald must be the one in your husband's line. I have his birthdate as 1-14-1917 and death as 4-25-1942. William had a brother Willis. I am in contact with a gentleman in Nova Scotis who is connecting his grandmother's family to the line of my cousin which would most likely be your husband's line. How exciting!! Has your husband ever met anyone from this line of his family? Where do you live? May I pass your info on to my cousin? Email me direct, if you want. I'm so excited for this info to be coming together for your family.
