African American/ Mulatto, Perry Ury, (aka Perry Bishop) abt. 1876 in N.E. TX in the Sulphur Springs, Paris, Gilmer area.

Father = unk Ury/ Bishop, born in TX. Mother = Amanda, Henrietta or Martha Carson born in MS. Grandmother = Julia Carson. Uncle = Lewis Carson.

Perry would be related to the NE TX: Bell, Biard (Baird, Beard), Bishop, Crisp, Crooks, Darden and Dillingham families.

Plz. email mail me should any of these family folk seem familiar. Thanks, L.

Thanks for responding. Very possible Perry Ury abt. 1876 is connected to the family of your Amanda. He's listed with his CARSON gr-mother in the 1880 Fed. Census (Hopkins Co., TX); along with other cousins an uncles and an aunt?. Appears his mom was a CARSON. She could have been Amanda, Henrietta, or Martha Carson; all born in MS approx. bet. 1851-54. Yet to identify which one or find their offspring. Do any of these names ring a bell?

Please feel free to email me privately.

Just beginning search for mixed-race Urys of North Carolina. Some lived in Savannah, Ga in the 1920s and 30s. Any connection to Texas branch?
