Enlisted Royal Engineers Chatham 13 September 1881 age 14yrs 7mths served total of 21yrs 37days. Saw service in Gibraltar & Bermuda, discharged with rank of Sergeant 19 Oct 1902.

NoK given as Father (illegible) Charles (Dead 25-10-82), Mother Emily, Sister Emily, Brother William, Sister Florence, Wife Florence.
Married Florence Whitaker 4th Apr 1894 Sheffield, no children.
