Dear All:

Please start a separate sub-thread for each Clan ancestor.

The thread on this board (and the mailing list) is intended for
comments, hints on how to locate, and discussions
on those distant ancestors ( sometimes brick walls) that are
very hard to locate. Anyone with knowledge of the
Clan Ancestors or searching for ancestors and especially
the Clan Genealogist are especially encouraged to post
their finding on the Clan ancestors.

Please do not use this board for merely looking for
recent descendants. That function is better in the
Surname message boards and mailing lists.

Use the standard procedure in the subject header of
inserting your family ancestor information in the following format
NAME > location > dates

Best Wishes and Happy Hunting to All

Yes I am trying to find out information on the Clan Gordon, as I am doing my family tree and along the way with my cousin's help she found that my family belonged to that clan and I am trying to find out if it is true and whatever information I can get help with. I am gone back to the late 1839, when my ggg-grandfather was born.
I know that his father's name was Valentine Naughton(Neachtain), his name was Martin Naughton.
So if you could help me I would truly appreciate it, or head me in the right direction.

Thank you in advance for your help
Michalene P. Naughton

I think you are referring to the same Valentine Naughton, Neachtain, who was deported to Australia for eating one of the King's sheep on the island of Inis Trawer in County galway. My sister and I discovered him as our ancestor whose son, Martin emigrated to the "US and whose wife Mary gave birth to my father and several others in Chicago, IL.
We have never found out anything about what happened to hiim in Australia, Kathleen Naughton aka Kathy
