Adams on 4-25-1852 in Sandusky County. Children of Emanuel are Vina, Clarence, Pearly, George, Perry, Flossie, Orrie, Faye, Nellie and Lulu. Death certificate for Emanuel states Alexander and Lavina were born in Sandusky County. Have seen name spelled as above. Am trying to find Scottish roots. Thanks in advance. Barbara

My great grandmother, Mary Murray, was born in Lindsey, in Sandusky Co., May 5, 1857. Her death certificate says that she was the daughter of Emanuel Murray and Lavina Adams. I have searched the 1850 census and found an Emanuel Murray, age 19, born in Canada, working on the farm of Sarah Lapoint in Rice Township. I have a picture of Mary taken about 1865 that shows Mary and a sister about three years older. Does anyone who any information about Emanuel or Lavina.

Received your message. I think another member of my family might be working on this as well. I do not have any "Beulah" for Nellie. I have discovered her to be Mrs. John Bihn. She is the sister of my gfather, Orrie Murray. I have the death certificate for Orrie and his father Emanuel. Emanuel's certificate lists Alexander Murray as his father. But there I run into a dead end. I have also found no record that Emanuel had a son named Emanuel. My research has come from the geneology library at the Hayes Presidential Library in Fremont. Do you know any more about Nellie? Also, is there anything I can help you with? Look forward to hearing from you.

Hello Everyone - Don't know how much help I can be, but will give you what I have. First of all, I am not really researching the Murrays except those that are in my line. I am researching the Overmyers.

I have the death certificates of George W. Murray and Sarah Murray Swartzlander. They were brother and sister who married into the Overmyers. Their parents were: Alexander F. Murray and Lavina Adams. I have no dates for their parents, but Emmanuel was not listed as the father.

I also have the Lindsey Cemetery List. On it is listed an Emmanuel Murray who died 13 Dec 1927, and a Mrs. Emmanuel Murray who died 28 Dec 1928.

I do not know where any of you live, but getting death certs in Sandusky County is as easy as eating pie. Send a SASE, along with 10 cents for each uncertified copy you want to:
Sandusky County Health Dept
2000 Countryside Drive, Fremont, Ohio 43420
(And I did say .10 cents) Isn't that fantastic?

Maybe by sending for the certs for Emmanuel and Mrs. Emmanuel Murray, you can find out who the parents were.
Wish I could be more help, but that's all I have. Barb

I have been to Fremont, the Sandusky Co. seat and have come back with a lot of info. Mary A. was listed on the 1860 census as a daughter of Alexander and Lovina Murray she was 2 years old. I'll post some more later.

I am also looking for Murrays. My Great-grandmother was Sarah Murray. she married David T. Swartzlander. I have Alexander Murray married Lovina Adams..and Emanuel was their son. I was at Toledo Library and found a family tree that said Emanuel and Lovina were married and had a daughter Mary but the dates did not match, Emanuel would have been 4yrs. when Mary was born and Lovina was almost 20 yrs. older than Emanuel.

My great grandmother was Sarah Murray she married David Swartzlander...when you where at the Hayes Library did you see any information on the Indian reservation that was in Sandusky County between 1817 and 1837. I am also looking for information on Alexander Murray, do you know when and where he died. I believe Lovina Adams was Samuel Adams daughter but I am not sure who her mother was.
