Researching descendants of Barnett HOWARD b. 04 Nov 1768 Granville Co.,NC d. 25 Aug 1824 Henry Co.,TN m. 13 Mar 1794 Jane HUNT b.? d. 08 Jan 1842 Henry Co.,TN. Their son Thomas A. HOWARD b. 17 Jan 1814 Granville Co.,NC d. 06 Feb 1892 m. Susan POWELL 16 July 1850 Henry Co.,TN. Thomas and Susan had several children, seeking any information on these, Emily m. a Wiggin's, Lucius, Scott (my gggrandfather), Barnett, Memucan, Ella, Allene, Angeline, Susan. Any information would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you.
I may be researching the same Howards from Henry Co. Will check my records and post a notice tommorrow.
The names you mention might tie in once I have more information, right now I do not recognize these names. I am trying to confirm my Howard's as being the ones I mentioned in my first query, they were in Henry Co.,TN. My grandfather was born in Weakley Co.,TN and his father was a Scott Howard. Do not know if he is in fact the Winfield Scott Howard son of Barnett Howard and Jane Hunt in Henry Co., TN or not. Until I confirm this, I am at a stand still on my research. Thank you for your time. I will for sure let you know if I do in fact connect to the names you mentioned. Happy Howard Hunting.
I hope this will help you. Not sure of any tie in or not. The info I have came originally from a Larry Burd in 1962 and it has been very hard to put together. There are alot of dates missing and names, but I know it will all fall together "someday" There will be several blanks, but I am working on filling them in. The names you asked about in Grayson Co., Va. are some of the same names I have. Just not sure of the time frame on some of them, or the full names of families, but here goes anyway. Maybe some of your information (if the same families) will help complete either yours or my information. If there is no information by the names it just means I don't have it. All I really know is that they are in my family line

HOWARD and Susan POWELL son's were named Memucan Hunt HOWARD. Jane HUNT father was Memucan HUNT but I know nothing more on him nor who her mother was. Do you have more information on Memucan HUNT of Granville Co., NC? Would appreciate any information you have. You can send it to me at email@example.com
if you would please. Thank You.
I know of a Memucan Hunt in Granville Co N. C. Wonder if he could be connected to your Jane?
I am searching for Thomas Benton Hall born circa 1855 born possibly in Henry Co. or Carroll Co. Tennessee. He is a direct ancestor of my husband, John Robert Hall. Thomas Benton Hall was married to Sarah Marila (Ella) Kyle
February 3, 1874, in Henry Co. She was born June 11, 1856. She is buried in New Bethel Cemetery, Henry Co. I am trying to find Thomas Benton Hall's father and mother. They may have come to Henry Co. from Alabama through Carroll Co., TN. Thanks for any help!
Halls of Henry County, TN
The earliest Hall for whom I have credible information is
my great grandfather, Robert Thomas Hall, born October 22,
1842, in Como, TN (Henry County, just west of Paris).
He married Mollie MacDonald of Charlotte, AR, and spent his
adult life in Independence County, AR. Family stories are
that Robert Thomas Hall's parents were William and Frances
Hall of North Carolina. Supposedly, William moved the
family to AR from TN during the War Between the States.
Robert Thomas Hall's siblings which are known to me were:
Alfred, John, Phebe, Ivan, Andrew, Lydie and Rebecca.
Rumor is that there were other siblings born in NC.
My grandfather William Laban Hall (Robert Thomas Hall's son),
who died in Oct 1962 after raising 11 children in
Independence County, AR, was the patriarch of our family.
His second and third wives were each born in Cabool, MO.
Those two wives each had roots in the Boyce family of MO
If you can find the book " Pioneer Settlers of Grayson County Virginia " by Benjamin Floyd Nuckolls you will find alot of information on the Bournes that I am connected to.
