Saw your message about Thaddeus Fairfield, guess we're cousins. It's taken me a long time to find this line, my initial info said the name was Fairchild, but Fairfield it is. Lucinda Fairfield dau. of Thaddeus b. 27 Aug 1782 m. Pliny (Plinney) DeWitt 3 Sep 1803 in Brookfield, MA. The DeWitt name is often Witt, but census records strangely show middle initial as D.(funny how that is, anyway my middle name is DeWitt)Pliny and Lucinda had 11 children born in either Brookfield, MA or Florida, MA. Florida is a tiny town at the top of Mt. Greylock above North Adams, MA on the New York/Vermont border. Chidren were: Pamelia, Keziah, Marilla, Lucinda, Mary, (2) Jemima, Pliny, Ivory, George Anson, and Julia Amelia. George Anson DeWitt (gg-grandfather) b. 7 Feb 1825 d. 2 Dec 1877 in North Adams m. Betsey Fife b. 1830 in Florida, MA. They had 2 children: Lydia Adelaide DeWitt b. 28 Dec 1860 d. 17 Apr 1946, Anson Palmer b. 12 Sep 1849. Lydia m. James C.C. Barker, MD b. Harlem, NYC d. New Milford, CT 1920.
This probably isn't much help with your line, but the Fairfield line goes back to 1610 in Wenham, MA: John(1), Walter (2), Walter (3), Stephen (4), Thaddeus (5). Would be interested if you could help.
