I am researching my husband's family line; his ggrandfather was Fredrick J. Hargrafen/Hargrave & was married to Adeline Spanier or Ferrin/Fehring she was b. abt. 1848-49 & died July 1896; I have her father as Edward Spanier & mother as Mary A. ? Any information about these families would be greatly appreciated. Both Fredrick & Adeline were born in Ill. & the family moved to Iowa. Thank you

Hi Betty,

I know this is an old post but I was hoping to contact you somehow. I have come across your name several times during research and it seems I'm in the same line as you and thought we could exchange info and maybe pics as well. I have pictures of Adeline and Frank and his other wife Elizabeth.

I too am stalled with Adeline. Hope your found an answer.

James

I have the parents of Frederick and his five siblings, but have had no luck in finding Fredericks grandfather and at what point they arrived from Germany. The time period seems to be between 1812 and 1839.

Lauren, I'm Betty Hargrave & I can assure you I'm not deceased. You may be referring to one of my sister-in-law's whose name was Betty Hargrave also & she is deceased. I also have another sister-in-law named Bette Hargrave & she is alive & well also. Quite confusing I must admit. Anyway, my husband's family is the Hargrafen/Hargrave family from Germany. Would love to share info with you! You can e-mail me direct or post a message here as well. Thank You !
