The area you mention, is it near Hot Springs?
If so, my gf Oliver was there about 1911. Let me know yes or no. Thanks.

Hi. My gf Oliver Frederick Fender showed up at Hot Springs in September 1911. The next we hear from him is 1920 when he shows up in Los Angeles, California.
We are not sure exactly how long he was in Hot Springs. He was living in Iola, Kansas in 1901. In 1901 he joins the Army. In 1904 He is discharged in San Francisco.
In 1905 he is back in Iola, Kansas, then from there to Hot Springs, Arkansas. he was born at Alexander, Kentucky in November 5, 1882. His father Frederick was born
March 10, 1849 in Alabama (per death certificate). My uncle, Olivers oldest son, told me that Oliver was supposedly a mercenary in Mexico and trained troops for Poncho Villa.
This may be why we can't find him anywhere. But one thing is for sure. I have a document that placed him in Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1911. Get in touch. see ya. Mike

Yes, there was a Fender Community in Lawrence County, Arkansas in yester-year; near Walnut Ridge, Hoxie, etc. Also, there is a Fender Family Reunion each summer in the same area. My Grandmother was a Fender. I still have one living Great Aunt in Texas. I have alot of Fender info in storage. Also, I saw another man's e-mail address on one of the other replies. Richard has helpd me alot... Respectfully, PattifromAR@webtv.net

Patti:

My maiden name was Fender. I have relatives from Pine Bluff and I believe some of them came from Walnut Ridge. My Granny lives in Duncanville, TX. My papaw, Charles Paul Fender passed away 2/14/2000. His only living sister is Grace Ballew. I believe she lives in Tyler, TX. His other sisters were Velva and Jessie. There was also another sister that I can't remember. I wonder if they are part of your family. I would like more information about your family. This e-mail is only temporary for a couple of more weeks. However, you can reach me at Julie Shepard 2622 N Madelia Spokane WA 99207 509-487-3856.

Hi Julie, It is so good to hear from you. Yes, you are in my line of FENDER's. I now have us documented back to Germany. Aren't you Charles David FENDER's daughter? Your Grandfather who passed away 02/14-2000 was my Grandmother's Brother. My Grandmother was Hazel FENDER--Ellis, she was the oldest and your Grandfather was the youngest. They had another brother named Harry who died as an infant and is buried in Pomona, CA., along side William W. FENDER. So this is how our line goes Hans Michael > Christian > Nimrod > Calvin Daniel > William W.> Charles P., Sr.,> then yours is Charles P., Jr.,> Charles David > then you and your children if you have any. If your Dad is Charles David he was @ Walnut Ridge Hoxie, AR., on Thanksgiving Day and your Grandmother was w/ them but they didn't make the trip up to my cousins where we all were. Yes, G-Aunt Grace FENDER--Ballew does live in Tyler, TX., her other siblings were G-Aunt Gladys FENDER--Ballard who died in Dallas, TX., Jessie--FENDER--Doyle; Velva--FENDER--Andrus; they both resided and died @ Pine Bluff, AR. My Mother is still living @ Ash Flat, AR., about 10-miles from me. I moved back to AR., 7-1/2-years ago, my sister lives just 20-miles North of me, my youngest brother resides in Colorado, our oldest brother passed away 01/24-2000, just days before your Grandfather. Otherwise we would have been @ your Grandfather's funeral in Duncanville, TX. So e-mail me back asap w/ a personal e-mail address or I'll write to you @ your home address. PattifromAR@webtv.net
