Do you have any information about James Radfords parents. I think I have all James kids I have 10. They say James was born near Jamestown VA. abt. 1775 married Mary ???. I also need to find her full name. There seems to be some confussion on his line after his father or at his father. I have seen it to be John Radford then from there it goes to another John Thompson but I have also seen it go to a George Radford. Do you have any information that might help us to straighten this out.

Since Sarah Radford was born about 1771, I assume her father, James Radford would of been born about 1745 to 1750? Just guessing. I have no spouse informatin on him at this time. If I find out more I will gladly post it too. Eunice

George Radford

George Radford, born about 1809, was the son of James Tazewell Radford (Senior) and Mary? George had at least 7 children: Adeline (Underwood), Tazewell, Greenille R., Mary, Theodosia, Mahala, and Araminta. (Source- Georges will). Probably buried in the original Radford cemetary, which is in the woods, approximately a half mile from the second Radford cemetary, which is just off Rt 888 on top of the mountain near the Blue Ridge Parkway. They lived in a beautifuil place. Next year is probably the year the Jesus comes.

Jean: You live in a good place. Some of the answers to your questions, and many other peoples questions, may lie in a grave yard on top of the Blue Ridge. There is a first Radford cemetary. It is not far from the Radford cemetary on Rt 888. If someone could locate that cemetary, and if the markers are still legible, that is where the orginal James Tazewell Radford is buried, probably along with George and his other four brothers. I live in Maryland, and it is no longer feasible for me to make that search to record the vital data recorded on those markers.
That would be a find challenge for someone to undertake, but watch out for the copperheads.

thanks for the tip, it will most likely be spring before getting there on foot for me, but i will make it or send a relative through there, i was one of te biggest tom boys ever and fear not i will make the walk, besides my hubby and i have native trout fished those areas many times and our lines both owned most of the land up there and surronding areas , so i know i should find it without having to make more than one trip, i do daycare and dont forsee taking my soon to be five, and two three yr. olds with me in fall/winter to hike. but i am itching to do so, perhaps ill get a decent saturday for me to add it to a honey do list, and get him to go with. thanks for the help.
