Hi I am trying to find information to help set up a Family Tree for my Children & Grandchildren and was hoping you could help.

My name is Colin John Payne, however at birth it was Colin Benjamin John Balledine, I was born on 2nd June 1946 in Acocks Green, Birmingham, England. My fathers name is Benjamin Richard Ballendine, who I believe came from Battleford (he also had a brother Bill). Benjamin was married to my mother whose name at that time was Doris Margaret Lambert and she lived in Acocks Green, Birmingham.

I was hoping you could help with any information that you might have or point me in the right direction to continue with the search for the Family Tree.

Regards

Colin Payne

I am not sure you have contact with your father but if you don't what about getting in contact with relatives. Battleford and North Battleford are not very large communities so I would think anybody with the Balledine last name is related so use this online directory and contact them

http://www.mytelus.com/phonebook/index.vm

Just enter Sask and find all from both palces

Good Luck

Hi Jenny

I am also trying to do a family tree for my daughter, the problem I have is that I do not know a lot about my birth father, who was in the Canadian forces and was post in England, he married my Mum in 1945 in Birmingham, England and his name is Benjamin Richard Ballendine and he had a brother named Bill who may have lived in Quebec, he returned to Canada before I was born and I do know that my mother had tickets to go to Canada but she received a letter from Bill but never went to Canada, unfortunately she has never told me what was in the letter. I was born on 2.6.1946 in Acocks Green, Birmingham, England and uncle bill sent me presents until I was about 5 years old, I was then adopted by my mothers new husband, I never heard from my father and neither did my mother.

Any information you might have could be helpful.

Hello Colin,

There is a brand new Ballendine surname board, just started. Please post your info.
http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=s...

I think Heather's advice is excellent about contacting people from Battleford. I see a Sheryl Ballentyne is on the town
council. http://www.battleford.ca/council.html

Also, you could inquire about Ballendine from a librarian.
http://www.lib.sk.ca/Rex7/Detail2.CFM?Addresses.Library_ID=2...

Do you have a copy of your mum's marriage registration to Mr. Ballendine? Would think it would include his parents'
names, his birthdate and place.

Hope to see you on the Ballendine board.

Nancy

Hello,

Benjamin Richard Ballendine was my uncle. I heard that he had married a woman in England, and had a son. I have never found out more information than that. Benjamin died of cancer, and has only one surviving sibling left, Doreen Gillies. She is not in very good health, so if you would like to get in touch with her, I will give you her number.

Sincerely, Joyce Yvonne Mary Krilow, nee Ballendine,
Daughter of Thomas Ballendine,
Granddaughter of John Ballendine.
