I am searching for anyone doing Whidbee/Whedbee/Whidby research. My ggg grandparents Ben & Elizabeth WHIDBEE came to Baldwin Co. AL in the 1830s from Chowan Co. NC but cannot find any definite link. Elizabeth may have been a HAUGHTON. Who were their parents? I would appreciate any information. Thank you.Thank you.

Don't know if we are related, however my paternal grandparents lived in Baldwin County, AL (Bay Minette) - their names were Benjamin A. and Nora Elizabeth White -Whidbee - they had 8 children - Tommy, Ellis, Ray, Hammel (my father), Melzie, Thursia, Ruth, Lucille, most of which still live in that area. The exception being Ray Whidbee, he resides in San Diego -- Hammel, and Tommy are deceased.

I am also looking for connections to this name. My line: mother's name was Susan(don't know maiden name) born about 1785 in NC. Oldest daughter Eliza Ansley(didn't marry) born about 1818 in TN, Mary Jane born about 1819 in Ga. m. Marcus Heath and son James (b. ?) died as young man. I am not sure of the father's name but I believe it is William.

Unfortunately, the names you mention are not familiar to me. I will keep your address for future reference in the event that I do run across those names.

Your Whidbee/Wheedbee/Whidby men married Sutton women. George W. m. Sarah S. in 1764 and Sarah W. m. Benjamin S. in 1762. Elizabeth W. m. Joseph S. before 1723, and I believe a Richard W. m. Elizabeth S. in the early 1700s.

Where are these Whedbee men from? I am looking for the Whedbee that married a Susan ?. I only know of the 3 children I mentioned: Eliza Ansley, Mary Jane and James. Eliza was born in TN and Mary Jane was born in GA. They were born about 1818/19. James died in his teens in GA.
