Recent search on Fold3 of John Grier pension papers indicate John Grier moved his address from Tennessee to Rushville, Rush County Indiana. Robert and Richard Greer attest to knowing John Grier. John's reason for moving was to be with his three sons. 1835 Richard received land in Rush County 1836 Richard received land in Warrick County.
Several researchers have Richard with a middle name. He named all of his sons after Revolutionary War heros. Marion,William Jasper.Washington. Also Richard was not born in Pa. 1860 census says Washington D C. There was no Washington D. C. in 1780. Washington County N.C. which became Eastern Tennessee.
