The Westmeath telephone book have 10 Walkers listed, the majority in Mullingar and Athlone. There are 77 Bell's
(also includes all first and last names that begin with B)
also in Mullingar and Athlone.
Griffith Valuation took place in Westmeath in 1854 which is before the marriage in 1858, so not likely that Alexander
was farming his own land, usually that happened after marriage but not always.
There are 9 Alexander Walker's, 9 named George and 3 named
James. It would depend on their place in the family as to the name of the father. There are 30 Bell's. You will need to match up parish's with the surname and you should be
able to reduce the numbers to a couple of parish's.
The easiest Griffith's to use for matching parish's is onwww.failteromhat.com
with just name and Parish & Townland
you can then go to a more advanced websitewww.askaboutireland.ie
where you can fill in the name
and parish and you will see much more information such as the neighbours, the landlord, the size of the property
(offices are outbuildings)www.census.nationalarchives.ie
