Dear Bree,
Thanks for posting this for us. Dad was a funny, smart and charming man
who influenced hundreds of young people to see their own potential. As a
father, he was a great friend, role model and listener...always there with
wisdom and insight. He is deeply missed by us all.
Thank you again.

You're very welcome, Pat. Would you happen to know whether your father's NEAHR ancestry originated in New York state -- perhaps his grandparents or great grandparents? This spelling variant of NEHER is very uncommon and I am looking for descendants of Zachariah C. NEAHR from Canajoharie, Montgomery Co., NY. His wife was Sophia MITCHELL.

This means a lot to me personally. When I was growing up I spent some time but not much with my grandpa. I just barely remember the service for my grandfather. I know that there was a lot of crying. I wish that I had more time with him but although I didn't I love grandpa.

Dear Neahr Family,
As some of you may know, I was once a student of John Neahr's at Mesick Schools. It has taken me a long time to gather the courage to check on Mr. Neahr, because I was afraid he would have passed on. I loved John Neahr like he was a second father....and unfortunately, life happened and my circumstances prevented me from visiting him and Mrs. Neahr, as I once did.
To the family of John Neahr (Mrs Neahr, Patricia, John, Luke, and everyone), I am deeply sorry for your loss. I wish that I could have been there for Mr. Neahr's service. He was a positive role model for me as a boy and a young adult. I will never forget the things that he taught me, and all of the laughs and good times that we shared as friends. Until we meet again, I pray that God will hold Mr. Neahr in his hands. May he rest in peace.
