Looking for the Toomey's of Dublin Ireland, My grandmother
Nora was said to come from Dublin. Belonged to the St. Andrews Catholic Church. Parents, Joseph Toomey and Jane
Collins.siblings: Josephine, John, Joseph,and George.
Last Known address in 1924 29sthCumberland St, Dublin.

Hi, I am stuck with my Irish roots. I can see a number of the Toomey Family in Dublin townsend/Gloucester Street John 1865 - 1904 married Margaret Carroll. Children Mary Chrsitina 1899 - 1979, John (Jack) 1896 - 1952, Kathleen ?, Elizabeth 1897 - ?. Mary Christina is my grandma. Happy to make contacts. Phil.

Can't see the family in Dublin on either the 1901 or 1911 censuses. Did they emigrate?

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I have some indexes from Ancestry suggesting that Mary Christina was born in Baltinglass in 1899. Yes some of them did emigrate to UK but some stayed behind and are still there. John Toomey died in 1904 and Margaret remarried to William Kavanagh in 1922 whilst the children were still in Ireland.
