THERE WAS A RUSSELL CAIN ON 1800, SURRY CO. NORTH CAROLINA CENSUS. DANIEL CAIN ALSO HAD LAND IN SURRY CO. AROUND THAT TIME. WE ARE SEARCHING IN THAT VICINITY FOR A SPOUSE FOR CELIA STEELMAN CAIN. WILLIAM STEELMAN PROVED THE LAND FOR DANIEL CAIN. THERE HAS BEEN A BOOK WRITTEN ON THE CAIN'S. THEY ALL GO BACK TO PETER CAIN OF ROWAN CO. EXCEPT THEY PUT OURS BACK TO THOMAS CAIN OF DELAWARE. THAT THOMAS NEVER LEFT DELAWARE AND WAS MARRIED TO UNICE HUBBARD. I WOULD BE GLAD TO SHARE ANY INFORMATION THAT WE HAVE, AND ALSO WOULD BE MOST INTERESTED IN SEEING YOUR INFORMATION. BENJAMIN CAIN WAS ALSO IN SURRY CO. IN 1800. WE BELIEVE HE WAS A BROTHER OF JOHN CAIN BORN ABOUT 1773, THAT THIS LINE CAME FROM. MY MAILING ADDRESS IS JAUNITA CAIN, 512 WEST 6TH ST., CARROLLTON, MISSOURI, 64633. COULD YOUR CAIN HAVE BEEN MARRIED A SECOND TIME?

My dad told me a story about a Cain who came from Ireland with several brothers to North Carolina in the 1700's. The brothers left to several states including Georgia, where I am from. My dad was a truck driver who was told this story by an old man on the coast of N.C. in the 1960's. I would very much like to find out about this. My Genealogy can be traced only to the mountains of North GA and maybe N.C. Thanks! Ollie Lee Cain Jr

My Cain line starts with a Peter Cain in North Carolina in the early 1700's. The family moved to Knox Co. Kentucky and are there in the 1790 census. Next they moved to Harrison and Mercer Co., Missouri. Later some of them moved to south west Iowa.
