Looking for ANY information regarding Mariah LOVELESS / LOVELACE born c. 1810 in KY, most likely Bullitt County. She married Caleb WILSON in Vigo County, IN in 1830. Children include Margaret J., Reason, S. Alice, Susan, Senshitta? and Victoria. Mariah died abt 1854 in Vigo County, IN.
Henry W. Bayne married Anna Mariah LOVELACE on 8 OCT 1829 in Bullitt County, Kentucky, according to the County Marriage Register. Other LOVELACE names on the Register were
Richard, who married Sally Hall on 20 SEP 1810; Reason, who married Peggy Clark on 15 JUL 1811; Hezekia, who married Sarah Genry on 6 APR 1820; Susannah, who married Samuel Hoke on 7 SEP 1826; Elon (Eleanor), who married Jessie Goff on 27 MAY 1828, and Elizabeth LOVELACE, who married Squire Hart on 21 MAR 1830.
The Anna M. LOVELACE who married Henry W. Bayne was my g-g-g-grandmother, born in 1801 in Virginia and died in 1862 in Andrew County, Missouri. She and Henry had seven children born in KY, IN, and MO. I believe Anna M. LOVE- LACE was probably a daughter of Benjamin LOVELACE Jr. born about 1774 in Frederick County, Maryland. Will share data.

Would you know a Sarah Lovelace b. May 27,1811 d. Apr.16,1884 married William DeHart. Her father may have been George or William Lovelace.
I am a direct decendant of Samuel Hoke who married Susan Lovelace in Buillett County, Ky. I have a sworn statement of their marriage. I just recently (last several months) found out about Susan Lovelace. I would be willing to share information if you are interested.
Would like to ask if you have a connection to any Chiltons of Loudoun Co.Va or Montgomery/Frederick Co. Md
my reason for asking is that my Joshua Chilton 1752- 1847, had a dau named Lovelace "Lovice" by his lst marriage.
Joshua was on the Loudoun Co. VA tax records 1775-77, & 1780. After that I lose him until the mid 1790s in Loudoun and Montgomery Co. Md.
the two sisters of "Lovice" Chilton go to Nelson co. Ky by after 1811. Elizabeth Chilton m 1818 Greenbury Rogers. Nelson co. Ky. her sister Rosanna m Thomas Hagan 1811 (marriage is in both Loudoun Co. Va and Montgomery Co. Md)
Lovelace "Lovice" m Jesse Oxley 1817 lived Montg co. Md.
Hoping to find the ancestry of Joshua chilton. where did he go after 1780? to NC PA or ?? He m Elizabeth Fouch @ 1780. where? As the Lovelace went to the area of Nelson co. Ky and the name is found in my Rogers lines I am "hoping" someone somewhere has a clue. Happy to exchange info etc..
Bullett County, KY
Did This Samuel have any sons named Robert, born about 1834??
We haven't figured out for sure who all of his children are. What information do you have on Robert Hoke?
Robert Hoke, perhaps the 2nd child of Samuel Hokes second marriage, was born in Jefferson County, KY about 1834. (This is from LDS Records). He married two times, divorcing his Indian wife. Apparently all of his children by the Indian woman were born in KY, maybe (the then) Hardin County. He died about 1900 in Indiana.
Here are 2 LDS records on Robert Hoke:
Robert H. HOKE Sex: M
Jeffersontown, Jefferson, Kentucky
Father: Andrew HOKE
Mother: Carolyn Matilda ZILHART
Robert HOKE (AFN: W2P6-5W)
Jefferson Co, KY
Married: Jul 1855
Father: Samuel HOKE (AFN: W2P5-ZW)
Mother: Elizabeth (AFN: W2P6-02)
Spouse: Catherine MCGAUGHEY (AFN: W2P6-63)
Marriage: 5 Jul 1855
The second one seems to fit better that the first, but he could be 10-20 years older than 1834. Robert was a backwoodsman, so he left few tracks. I still hope to find some info on him in Indiana. Our family records say that he married an Indian named Magaha in 1855 - I have a death certificate with his & her name on it.
I don't have my papers with me. I'll check everything closer this weekend and email you. Samuel was married about 1826 in Bulliett County KY to Susan Lovelace. I have a copy of the marriage affidavit sent to the War Department for Civil War Pension. This means Samuel was about 29 years old when he marries her. He moved from Kentucky to Indiana and then on to Illinois, made it up to Iowa, over to Missouri and back down to Illinois where he died in Clay County Illinois and leaves everything (proably not much) to a Granddaughter who's last name is Smith. The reason I think he was married and had children before marrying Susan is that in a statement made in the civil war documents he says "Cornelius Hoke aged about 48 married, my son with me in 1862". Cornelius Hoke is in Clay Richland Illinois in 1850 and so is Samuel. By using the census I show Samuel had a son named Samuel born in Indiana about 1831. Samuel marries again to Martha (Patsy) McKnight in Illinois and has more children. We are pretty sure that Reason Asa Hoke is Samuels son also. One more note my GGrandfathers name is James Robert Hoke.
It appears that Samuel that is the father of a Robert (of one LDS record - born 1782 in Manchester, York Co, PA) married his first wife, Margaret Donaldson, on Dec. 11, 1813 in Jefferson County, KY. She died at about 40 years of age in 1830, most likely as a result of childbirth complications. Margaret was born to Robert & Martha (Cox) Donaldson in KY about 1790.
Together, they had seven children:
1) Jane Hoke Born: Jefferson County, KY c 1814
2) Andrew J HokeB: Jeff Cty, KY July 23, 1817
3) John Hoke Born: Jeff Cty, KY c 1820
4) James Hoke Born: Jeff Cty, KY c 1821
5) Christiana Hoke B: Jeff Cty, KY March 26, 1824
6) George Hoke Born: Jeff Cty, KY 1827
7) Naomy Hoke Born: Jeff Cty, KY 1830
It might be this same Samuel that married a second wife, Elizabeth (perhaps Weist??), before 1832. Interestingly, she was born in Manchester, York County, PA before 1786 (LDS record guess at her birthdate). She must have been about 46 at the time they married. I don't know when she died, but it was after 1838, likely after Samuel died in 1850.
Together, they had four children:
1) Mary Hoke Born: Jefferson County, KY 1832
2) Robert Hoke Born: Jeff Cty, KY c 1834 Died IN, c 1900
3) Enos Hoke Born: Jeff Cty, KY c 1836
4) William Hoke Born: Jeff Cty, KY c 1838
I think the above was LDS records. My record only says KY for Robert's birth.
