John M. Yax (6 Sep 1891-24 Jan 1971) was
the son of John Marcus Yax (15 Aug 1865-16 Oct 1925)
and Carrie Mae Harris. John Marcus Yax was the son of
William Yax (18 May 1843-22 Apr 1926) and Mary Levere.
William was the son of Lambert Yax (2 Oct 1798-?) and
Nancy Ann Hathaway. Lambert Yax was the son of Pierre
Yax (7 Apr 1763-21 Nov 1826), first settler at Anchor Bay,
and Mary Joseph Freton. Pierre Yax was the son of Michael
Johannes Jacks (1709?-1793) and Catherine Herbinne, the
first German settlers at the Detroit River.

Lambert Yax was not the son of Pierre Yax. He was the son of John Baptiste Yax and Regina Christina Huyet dit Champagne. John Baptiste was another son of Michael Johannes Jacks and Catherine Herbinne.

Trudy, Your Grandfather was my Great Uncle. My Grandfather, Roy Yax was the brother of your grandfather, John. My parents and my younger sister came and visited your grandfather, my Uncle Johnnie and Aunt Ida every Memorial Day. I know that I met some of their grandchildren but don't remember their names. My fathers name was Clarence does that ring any bells. I would be glad to help you with more recent geneology if you'd like. Let me know.

Trudy, Please e-mail directly at R22667@aol.com. I really didn't think I would get a reply. You posted your message so long ago. Today would have been my fathers birthday. He would have been 80. Do you need information going backwards or forwards? Let me know. I will be seeing my Aunt Alice this weekend and she is the one who has a lot of information. My mother started the searching years ago. When she died my brother and my Aunt continued searching.
