I am attempting to locate the origins of my last name. My previous queries have been, for the most part, fruitless. If anyone can shed some light on this, I would be greatly appreciative.

just looking at the 3 choices, the third one looks more natural. the DeStafani is like McDonald. The "e" could also be an "i". In any case, the best match would be Southern Italy area. Try DeStafani, DiStafani, and even split it - De Stafani, Di Stafani (that would be like Von Stevens). otherwise, you could try d'Stafani, or even cut off the "De" and go with Stafani. Try the "toe" area of Italy and the islands in the region.

I only want remind to "Wikipedia"; Three gentlemen are explained with the last name "Di Stefano" there. All of they are of Italian origin!!
I think that this is the right notation.
