Hi Alison,

My family are all from Edmonton U.K. I', not sure where
George fits in. My fathers name was Ronald.gfather Thomas.ggfather Thomas ggg James who married a Sarah Pigeon.
He might have come from Sligo in Ireland.

I also have some record of a James Alligan from the Griffiths Valuation of Ireland 1848-64. for county of Sligo Parish Kilmacteige Location Carns in Village of Aclare.
Also for a George Alligan from Cavan. Killnaugh. Tullamoyle. Ireland.

What is your connection with the Alligans from U.K.

I am now living in Australia. Would love any info. you might have.

Regards Terry Alligan.

Hi Terry

Looking on (Ancestry.com) I found we are related.

I started tracing our name over 10 years ago. Going through the records at St Cathrines House. Now with the aid of the web it seems so much easier.

My family come form Edmonton, but I would love to know if the name is Scottish or Irish. Did you know there is a mountain in Scotland called Ben Alligan.

Anyway getting to the facts I have.

Dawn (me) b 1962 Alan (brother) b 1969

Father Albert James b 1932 Mother Betty née Meek b 1932

G Father Joseph b 1888 G Mother Mary Ann née Smith b ?

GG Father James b 1865 GG Mother Sarah née Swash b ?

GGG Father James b 1841 GGG Mother Sarah née Pidgeon b ?

GGGG Father Thomas b ?

Any other information you have of siblings etc. would be great.

I hope you don’t mind the intrusion.
