Samuel Watson Murphy married Elender Virginia Thompson. She was born in 1838 in Tennessee. She had two brothers J.B. born @1842 in Tennessee and J.A. b. @1854 in Arkansas. Their father was R. W. Thompson, b. in Alabama. According to the 1880 census, their mother (name unknown) was also born in Alabama. Don't know how we can tie our families together, but you are the first I've seen researching Thompsons of Van Zandt County.
