EDIT: some scans have already been posted throughout this thread. Please let me know if they are useful to you.

I recently purchased a bunch of letters addressed to Lilly Clark at a local antique store. They are all from the late 1800's & early 1900's - I plan to scan them and wanted to let anyone who may be looking for information on her (or the people that sent them) know that I have the scans, and will have the actual letters for a brief period of time before i use them.

A few letters mention her boyfriend/fiance? Joe. The handwriting is difficult to follow in them. I believe she married a Dorsett, as I also have a few other ephemera pieces that indicate so. A Ruth Dorsett is somehow related to her. I have an old spelling book of hers. I believe she also dated a Sam King.

Christy, I would like a copy of the one's that mention Thorne.
I believe that J.H. Thorne is actually I.H. (Isaiah Hoff Thorne).Daisy, Myrtle and Edith are all daughters of Isaiah and his wife Eliza Mills Compton.
I don't know how the Clark's fit into the picture.
Thanks,
bay

Not a problem! Do you want me to attach them here ( not sure how large of a file it can handle) ... or email you the high res scans?

You can send to itsallrelatives "at" verizon.net. I don't know how big a file ancestry will accept.
Thanks

Did you find these in Monmouth Co?

I'll get them scanned and sent over tonight or tomorrow.

I bought them at a local antique store in Manassas, Virginia. No idea how the owner got them. I use them in my art, but always try to locate relatives first to see if they want to buy back the originals or want scans. Same as I'd want done for me!

Just want to see if ancestry will take a largish file, so i don't flood your email. They are large files (7 mb a piece) ... tried reducing it for here ... but still very readable. Will see if it works this time. There's a few letters for you in this stack.

This one is from Myrtle Thorne. It folds like a card where the crease is, so keep that in mind when reading it. It may be easiest to print.

You can also contact me through my site (AlwaysChrysti.com) if need be.

Edit - reducing them worked! If you want the mega sized files, just let me know. I'll work on getting these scanned throughout the week.

Do you know if Mattie is a Thorne? Also, What Myrtle's married name was?

Hope these help!

Christy, the last message you posted was deleted. Guess they think you are spamming.

Christy, These are great, wonder how they got to Manassas.
I don't know who Mattie is. Myrtle married David Casey in 1904. Edith, Blanch, Lilly and Raymond are all Myrtles sisters and brother.
