I've just come across your message.

I am a direct desendent of Frederick Arrowsmith Shaw. His son John Stuart Shaw was my Great Grandfather.

I have just started research but am happy to help where possible.

This e-mail is addressed to "stephtheguider" who posted that he is the great grandson of John Stuart Shaw. He may or may not know that JSS served as a Lance Corporal in the Army Service Corps and died in the 5th Northern General Hospital, Leicester, on 3 May 1918 from disease contracted during the Dardanelles campaign and is thus classified as a war casualty.I have researched this branch as part of my wider Shaw family research and was pleased to have traced JSS's grave to the Walford Road Cemetery, Leicester. I was in contact with a local veterans organization, one of whose members very kindly went to the cemetery on my behalf and took a photo of the grave headstone for me. I will gladly share my details and a copy of the photo with "stephtheguider" if he would care to make contact. I would in turn be very pleased to obtain his family details to add to my records, George Shaw. rugeos@icon.co.za

I'm happy to share information I have found.
