Leigh I am looking for information on James A. Perdue
that married Sarah Hall. His forth child, David
Blacksher Hamilton Perdue is my great grandfather. I
have info on James children but not on James's parents.
I would be glad to exchange any info with you.

Leigh yes the James A Perdue I descend from was
born about 1822 I think, in Georgia. He married
Sarah Hall in 1838 in Bibb Co. Georgia and died
in Houston Co. GA. All of their children were
born in Houston Co.. I think James father was
a John Perdue or William Perdue. I would like
to find his parents. I have a lot of info from
the france to england to virgina to maryland
Perdues and from James to present but I miss
the part of who came to Ga.

As soon as I find my notebook (I know I laid it down here somewhere...........DOG!!!) I will send you the info I have. I think your James is in my family tree, Which the Georgia branch began with William Persue & his wife Judah.

You said William was james's father? Is this the william
born 1780 in North Carolina who lived in Jones co. Ga and
Bibb co. Ga.?
There is also a John D Perdue who lived in Bibb Co., Ga. and
in the 1840 census had a male who would be about the right
age for James.
There is also a John Perdue who was in Houston co., GA. in 1841 who could have been his father. This John was also
born in N.C.
It gets to be pretty confusing when you can't get enough
information about each one. Oh well, have you found your
notebook??

I know your posting was a long time ago; have you ever found the parents of James A. Perdue (born abt. 1822, married Sarah HALL)? I have been looking for them for quite a while also. I suspect that he is descended from William PERDUE, Sr. (b. abt 1767 and died 1825 in Jefferson Co., GA) who was the father of William PERDUE, Jr. (b. abt. 1780), but have no proof. Perhaps he was the child of William, Jr. or another one of William Sr.'s children. It is of special interest to me because my husband is descended from two branches of PERDUE's in Georgia. They did not believe that they were related; but I'm pretty sure that they were distantly related. One branch I have definitely traced back to William PERDUE, Sr. The other branch goes back to James A. PERDUE and stops!! Any ideas?

I am kin to Perdue's in Warner Robins, GA. I can trace back
to James A. but seem to stop there also. All indications I have
make me believe that William was his father. I am from the
David Blacksher Hamilton Perdue line, which one do you
come from?

David Blackshear PERDUE's brother, Mitchell W. T. PERDUE (b. 1848) is my husband's gg-grandfather through Mitchell's son Charlie Abner PERDUE (1878-1953). Charlie married Olif PERDUE. They thought that they were not related, but of course they were, somehow! She is a descendant of William PERDUE, Sr. who married Judah THOMPSON. Charlie's daughter Louise was my husband's grandmother. I, too, think that James A. is descended from this same William PERDUE, Sr., but how to prove it??
