Mary Polly Carter (b. 2/2/1783 Amherst County, VA-d. 7/21/1867 Daviess County, KY) and Bassett Burton (b. 2/24/1787 VA - d. 8/22/1832 Daviess County, KY) are my ggggreat-grandparents. I have Polly's parents as William M. Carter (b.8/21/1760 Amherst Co., VA - d. 10/14/1842 Ohio Co., KY) & Caty Williams. The children I have for Wm. & Caty are Mary Polly, Moses, Peggy, William, Abram, Delilah, & George. William had two other wives: Betty Ellis & Sarah Williams. He married Sarah on 1/7/1809 in Rockbridge County, Ky.
